DOCUMENTS (FROM ITALY)
All travellers must possess a passport valid for at least six months from the moment you enter the country. They must also possess a three month visa which costs US $ 25.00 when entering and  U.S. $ 20.00 when leaving the country.
CURRENCY
The local currency is the Kenya shilling (KSh), which currently has a value of € 0.01;
the exchange rate for € 1 is  100 shillings. The Kenyan shilling is divided into 100
cents. Bank Notes are in denominations of 1,000, 500, 200, 100, 50. The coins are
20, 10, 5, 1 and 50 shillings, 10, 5, 1 cents. The value of the shilling is subject to strong
fluctuations that should be checked before departure. Credit cards are generally
 accepted only in large cities.
CLOTHING
The sun is almost perpendicular to the equator, it is therefore advisable to protect from its rays. You should wear appropriate clothing, preferably cotton and it is a good idea not to forget a jumper for the evening. A light wind jacket is recommended for Safaris and visits to the highlands, as well as a hat and sunglasses.
LANGUAGE
In Kenya, English is the official language along with Kiswahili. Especially along the coast,
in hotels and shops, you will meet people who speak other European languages. In Malindi and Watamu, for example, Italian is the third spoken language. Some words in Kiswahili are greeted elsewhere with a smile, JAMBO is translated with the Italian hello or good morning.
ELECTRICITY
The sockets are English voltage of 220V. (Purchase an adapter before departure).
PHONE
Kenya has a good coverage for mobile dual-band and tri-band. The only area without coverage is the Maasai Mara park. The cost from fixed phones is very high, about
$ 21 for 3 minutes of conversation. The telephone code for Italy is 0039 followed by the city code including the zero  (eg code 00390141 .....);
Codes when using mobiles  (eg 0039339 .....) user number. Whereas from Italy to Kenya the code is 00254 + city code +  number.
